In parts of the world where plastic and extensive production measures cease to dictate home goods, these sustainable alternatives flourish. In Central Mexico, corn is a main staple in the local diet, and these handmade trivets utilize the husks that are leftover from meal preparation into reuse.
Husks are washed, braided tightly, would into a traditional pattern, and sewn together. Each features a loop for hanging. These natural trivets will make a beautiful addition to a table full of pottery and linen; or as a row of hanging art that can completely biodegrade at the end of its useful life.
