Collection: oral care
One billion plastic toothbrushes are thrown away every year in the United States alone, which is enough to stretch around the Earth 4 times (National Geographic). National Geographic also reported that earlier in 2020, a female albatross was observed attempting to regurgitate a tooth brush for her chick.
Plastic toothbrushes and floss are made of polypropolene plastic and nylon, which is sourced from fossil fuels and will last hundreds of years before breaking down into microplastics (Mysa 2021).
Plastic toothpaste containers are not recyclable and contain a lot of water, which increases carbon footprints of these items. Toothpaste tabs are water free to reduce carbon footprints of products and are easily refillable. Refillable tubes save the cost and the waste. While our products are fluoride free, you may decide that this does not work for your family, so please be aware of this.
